Jumble Chess
Jumble Chess
Jumble Chess is chess with a twist: three times per game, you pick a modifier that permanently changes how your pieces behave. Your opponent does the same. By the middlegame, no two armies are alike, and no two games play the same.

How it works
The game follows the normal rules of chess. At the end of your 1st, 8th and 15th turns, you are offered three modifiers and keep one. It takes effect immediately and lasts until the end of the game.
Modifiers come in three tiers, and the tier of each pick is random. It could be a quiet opening or a Radiant power on turn 1. To keep things fair, both players always pick from the same tier.
- Classic: subtle changes, such as bishops that can swap places with a friendly piece in their line of sight, or pawns that promote from the sixth rank.
- Gold: stronger powers, such as pawns that can capture straight ahead.
- Radiant: game-changing effects, such as queens that also move like knights, pieces that pass through your other pieces, or a win for giving check six times.
The goal stays the same: checkmate the opposing king.
